DESCRIPTION:A conversation between the artist William Wegman and John Reute
 r\, the director of the 20x24 Studio\, about their experience bringing thi
 s refrigerator-sized camera to Miami.  Invited by the Lowe Art Museum\, Wi
 lliam Wegman\, John Reuter and the 20x24 Polaroid camera travelled to Miam
 i in 1984 to capture the city in a series of unique large format Polaroids
  to be shown at the Lowe Art Museum later that year.  Wegman spent a week 
 there discovering\, with the help of Manual Gonzalez\, three locations ric
 h in material: “Les Violons\,” the Cuban cabaret-style lounge in Littl
 e Havana\;   South Beach and Grove Isle.  This virtual talk will be the vi
 rtual celebration of the exhibition “William Wegman: Instant Miami” on
  view at the Lowe Art Museum for the first time since 1984.  Wegman and Re
 uter worked together with the Polaroid camera both in and out of the studi
 o for decades and this talk will offer a rare glimpse into the 20x24 Polar
 oid work for which Wegman is so well known.  “Instant Miami” is on vie
 w in persn from June 24\, 2021 though September 16\, 2021. \n\n \n\nWillia
 m Wegman (born 1943\, Holyoke\, Massachusetts)\, is an artist whose painti
 ngs\, drawings\, videos and photographs have been exhibited in museums and
  galleries internationally. He is best known for his work featuring his We
 imaraners\, a collaboration which began in the 70s with his dog Man Ray an
 d which continues today with Flo and Topper.   \n\n \n\nJohn Reuter is a p
 hotographer and filmmaker. Reuter joined Polaroid Corporation in 1978 as s
 enior photographer and later Director of the legendary 20 x 24 Studio. Joh
 n is currently a part time faculty member at the University of Hartford in
  the College of Arts and Sciences and the Hartford Art School. He teaches 
 courses in analog and digital photography as well as cinema studies.
