About this Event
The Center for the Humanities would like to invite you to the lecture "Getting Writing Done" by Professor Bill Germano, who will address some of the issues and concerns around publishing academic writing today. These ideas are central to the 4th edition of his publication, Getting It Published (Chicago Guides to Writing, Editing, and Publishing), which will appear in Fall 2025.
William Germano is Professor of English at Cooper Union in New York City, where he served as Dean of humanities and social sciences for more than a decade. For almost thirty years he worked in scholarly publishing, as editor-in-chief at Columbia and as vice-president and publishing director at Routledge. He is the author or coauthor of six books, including three on writing from the University of Chicago Press Getting It Published (4th edition forthcoming fall 2025), From Dissertation to Book, and On Revision.
We greatly look forward to seeing you at Professor Germano's lecture, “Getting Writing Done.” To see recordings of some of our previous events, check out the Center’s YouTube Channel.
