 a\, Ph.D.\, was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador to the Organization of the Ame
 rican States on December 30\, 2022. During the last twenty years Ambassado
 r Mora worked as a consultant to the Library of Congress\, the Institute f
 or National Security Studies\, the National Democratic Institute\, the U.S
 . State Department\, the Organization of American States\, and U.S. Southe
 rn Command. He has spoken at numerous conferences in the United States\, L
 atin America\, and Europe. His opinion pieces and other commentaries have 
 appeared in U.S. and Latin American media outlets.\n\nAmbassador Mora rece
 ived his Ph.D. in International Affairs and an M.A. in Inter-American Stud
 ies from the University of Miami. He earned his B.A. in International Affa
 irs from The George Washington University. He also completed studies at un
 iversities in Peru and Costa Rica. \n\nAmbassador Mora is a recipient of t
 he Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service
 \, Department of Defense (2012). In 2022\, he was confirmed by the Senate 
 as the Permanent Representative of the United States to the Organization o
 f American States\, with the rank of Ambassador.
