About this Event
Add to calendarThe Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is pleased to welcome presenter Mary Adelyn Kauffman, board-certified music therapist for Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, to the FSAP Wellness Webinar line-up. The Power of Music features how music may be used to effectively manage stress. This interactive presentation demonstrates both active and passive music-based interventions to help participants control stress hormone levels. Ms. Kauffman received her graduate degrees in music performance before embarking on a successful career in the opera and musical theater houses of Germany. After her own experience with cancer, she returned to the University of Miami to study Music Therapy and the many different effects that musical elements have on our physical and mental well-being. Ms. Kauffman leads the Sylvester Singers Survivorship Choir, a group of cancer survivors and caregivers who improve and maintain their state of wellness through choral singing. Please join us to discover the health benefits of music. FSAP Health and Wellness webinars are offered as part of the University of Miami’s Well ’Canes Program. Attend to receive 100 Pure Wellness points (to a maximum total of 400 points for FSAP 1-hour webinar attendance per calendar year).
