As we near the Presidential Election, the Department of Political Science would like to take a moment to highlight another important issue on our local ballot: Florida Amendment 3, Top-Two Open Primaries for State Offices Initiative. Would this be good for Florida? Please join us on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 6:30pm EDT (on Zoom) for a discussion on how this amendment would alter the way we elect our government representatives. Hear from experts on both sides of the debate and decide for yourself – would top two primaries be good for Florida? Moderator: Abe Rakov, Co-Founder of Let America Vote; and the panelists are: Glenn Burhans, Chair of All Voters Vote, Mike Fernandez, Founder of MBF Healthcare Partners, Gregory Koger, UM Professor of Political Science, and Carlos Lopez-Cantera, former Lt. Governor of the State of Florida. Please click here to RSVP: https://miami.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_wzs4pJkBSeG-E7vxxY_hxg . We hope to see you there!
