A double bill featuring Frost's country ensemble, Sunshine State, and our Latin songwriter collective, Café Con Leche. Sunshine State presents a set of original music inspired by the sounds that continue to be a Nashville staple and Café Con Leche performs their all-original songs in a variety of modern and traditional Latin styles, including reggaetón, pop, rock, balada, ranchera, bachata, rumba-flamenca, and pambiche. The performance features a unique collaboration with Latin-Grammy award winning Jazz Flautist, Nestor Torres, who’ll lend his creativity and improvisational prowess to the music of Café Con Leche.
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Nestor Torres is known for his unique and danceable style, shaped by learning to improvise in the Charanga Cuban dance music genre. In addition to his achievements in the studio and on the stage, Torres is also the recipient of two honorary doctorate degrees from Barry University and Carlos Albizu University for his commitment to youth, education and cultural exchanges.
