The "Seminar in Cuban and Cuban Diaspora Studies" provides a virtual forum for works-in-progress that explore issues in Cuban and Cuban diaspora studies, irrespective of time period, discipline, or approach. The seminar welcomes comparative and interdisciplinary topics and is open to faculty members, graduate students, and independent scholars. The goal of this series is to foster a community of scholars that gathers to discover, discuss, and celebrate new scholarship.
The seminar will meet via Zoom on select Fridays in fall 2024 and spring 2025, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. To maximize time for discussions, papers will be circulated electronically in advance. Each session will begin with brief opening remarks from the paper's author and comments from an invited discussant. Conversations will be held in English and Spanish, in accordance with the language in which the pre-circulated paper is written.
This seminar is co-sponsored by the Morrison Fund for Cuban Studies at the University of Miami.
