The last 20+ years has seen a renewed activism in response to the harms wrought by the U.S. carceral state. Calls for prison abolition have moved from the margin to the mainstream of political discourse. There is a concomitant growth in related scholarship and pedagogy. This symposium is focused on the relationship of this activism and scholarship to pedagogy.
