https://miami.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_NrQ1kAQfSiGvEskdjusqLwNew advancements in long-read sequencing offer unique opportunities in cancer research and in the study of infectious diseases. PacBio accurate long reads enable researchers to explore the complete genome and transcriptome, while PacBio highly accurate short reads lower the limit of detection for very rare variants in applications like liquid biopsy research. This seminar will provide an overview of PacBio’s technology and a look ahead at the company’s innovation roadmap, and then explore applications in hereditary cancer genomics using whole genome sequencing (WGS) and targeted panel solutions, including options from Twist, IDT, Qiagen, and PacBio’s PureTarget. The presentation will delve into cancer transcriptomics, showcasing full-length isoform sequencing with PacBio’s Kinnex application and case studies in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and PRMT5, and cover solutions for challenging samples such as FFPE as well as microbiome and pathogen sequencing, with a spotlight on 16S/ITS for accessible community profiling. The Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG) Center for Genome Technology offers the PacBio Revio platform. The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (Sylvester) Onco-Genomics Shared Resource (OGSR) can provide cancer-related projects with upstream sample preparation for long-read sequencing on the PacBio Revio, and the Sylvester Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource (BBSR) can provide downstream long-read sequencing analysis support. Come learn and discuss your research goals and collaborative opportunities with PacBio representatives!
This Shared Resources Advanced Biomedical Technology Seminar is jointly hosted by the Sylvester Onco-Genomics Shared Resource, Sylvester Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource, and the HIHG Center for Genome Technology.
