This lecture is the keynote presentation for the 5th Annual Sylvester K12 Calabresi Symposium. Dr. Borges is a graduate of the K12 Calabresi program at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and has been the co-PI of the K12 program there since 2014. Her talk will describe her scientific accomplishments in the context of her career path as a physician-scientist. Her research focuses on young women’s breast cancer, postpartum breast cancer and the interaction of breast cancer with pregnancy, and the development of novel drugs for breast cancer, especially those that address issues most important for young women’s breast cancer unique needs.
