This concert also presents the winner of the 2022 FSO Piano Concerto Competition in a performance of Beethoven’s C minor concerto, conducted by graduate conductor Alberto Bade. The premiere of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet, the Rite of Spring, infamously caused a riot on the Parisian streets. It is considered to be one of the most influential pieces of the 20th Century. Gerard Schwarz conducts Stravinsky’s most well-known work, the Rite of Spring.
