Full of humor, romance and everyday family drama, Monica and David want what every adult wants—an independent life. Winner of the Jury Award for Best Documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, Emmy Award Nominee & Winner of National Down Syndrome Conference National Media Award. The film was produced and directed by Monica's cousin, Alexandra Codina.
The Casa Familia YPB is a group of young adults from the Miami community who serve as an extension from the Casa Familia inc. to bring the motto "Exceptional Housing for Exceptional People" alive.
Their goal as the YPB is to raise awareness, fundraise, and network with other like minded individuals around the mission of Casa Familia. The purpose of Casa Familia is to create affordable housing for adults with IDD & related disabilities in an enriched community setting.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion featuring Codina and members of the YPB.
