CosmosID can facilitate microbiome studies by providing user-friendly, interactive metagenomics analysis software and the world's largest curated database of microbial genomes. The CosmosID HUB is a cloud-based bioinformatics platform that allows for fast and intuitive taxonomic, statistical, and functional analysis. The CosmosID pipeline addresses many bioinformatics challenges by achieving better taxonomic resolution than traditional kmer and assembly-based approaches while maintaining computational efficiency and the ability to achieve species, sub-species and strain-level resolution with less sequencing depth. The CosmosID metagenomics pipeline can return strain-level resolution of bacteria, viruses, phages, fungi, protists, bacterial MAGs, and AMR and virulence genes. CosmosID can support a wide range of metagenomics projects, from microbial ecology to disease diagnoses and health interventions, using both human and non-human samples. This seminar will provide an overview of CosmosID and the capabilities of the CosmosID HUB.
This seminar is jointly hosted by the Sylvester Onco-Genomics Shared Resource (OGSR) and Sylvester Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource (BBSR).
Lunch will be provided for onsite attendees.
