“Advances in OCT for Glaucoma”
OCT has undergone numerous advances since its first publication of the technology in 1991. The following topics will be covered in this presentation:
Recently, wavelengths in the visible spectrum have been used for OCT, unlike commercial OCT technologies that operate in the near infrared. Visible light OCT (vis-OCT) provides ultrahigh resolution, at ~ 1.3 um in the eye, and enables OCT in vivo retinal oximetry.
Artificial intelligenc, particularly deep learning and federated computing, applied to OCT imaging produces glaucoma discrimination and detection and prediction of glaucoma progression superior to that achievable through conventional techniques, including standard machine learning algorithms.
