DESCRIPTION:Join us for a presentation by artist Pierre Cavalan. Cavalan
 ’s work is featured in the exhibition Force of Nature: highlights from t
 he Myrna B. Palley Art Jewelry Collection (on view through June 5\, 2022 a
 t the Lowe Art Museum).  \n\n \n\nPierre arrived in Australia from Paris\,
  France in 1974\, and has worked in the Sydney Jewlery industry for many y
 ears. In 1990\, Pierre set up his own studio in Glebe\, and started 
 exhibiting his creations Nationally and Internationally. He received many 
 awards for his creations using various recyclable materials\, and a fell
 owship from Kent State University\, and gave workshops at San Diego Stat
 e University. Pierre broke new boundaries within the jewelry trade\, mix
 ing old and new materials in a baroque style that remains unique to his ar
 tistic style.  \n\n \n\nHis works have been collected by National institut
 ions around the world and can be found in the collections at LACMA\, Los
  Angeles County Museum of Art\, USA\, Museum of Art and Design Museum\, NY
 C\, USA\, Museum of Fine Arts\, Houston\, Texas\, Imperial War Museum\, Lo
 ndon\, Musée des Arts Décoratifs\, Montreal\, Canada\, National Gallery 
 of Australia\, Powerhouse Museum\, Sydney\, and many others. \n\nThis is a
