#UMLACanesSurf's up, ’Canes! Grab your sunscreen and join us for a fun day of sun, sand, and waves at our ‘Canes Surf Day. Reconnect with old friends and make new ones as we ride the waves with fellow ’Canes. Bring along your loved ones, children, and friends! This event is BYO-Picnic, so feel free to bring beach snacks for yourself or to share.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time surfer, come to catch some waves and take a lesson from one of our experienced alums. If you are not into surfing, come for a great beach day with fellow ’Canes!
We will meet near Lifeguard Tower 24 in Santa Monica (Ocean Park).
When you arrive at the address above, the parking lot entrance can be found on Bicknell Avenue or Hollister Avenue. Look out for UM colors, but if you need help finding our group, call Carin at (305) 799-5592.
This event is free, but all participants must register by Wednesday, August 23rd.
If friends of the U are joining, kindly register them, as well.
What to Bring:
- Beach attire, sunscreen, and sun hats
- Surfboard and surf attire (don't worry if you don't have one; we will have a few loaners)
- Food and drinks for a potluck-style beach day
- Umbrellas and chairs
- Coolers
