About this Event
The Asian American Students Association and the School of Architecture present the 2024 Annual Lantern Festival! Join us on Friday, October 18 at 8PM in the architecture courtyard for a beautiful celebration filled with free food, boba, games, and fun performances! Then, end the celebration by decorating your own lantern and floating it on Lake Osceola.
Lantern Festival, or Mid-Autumn Festival, is a University of Miami tradition that serves as an extension of the many lantern festivals and mid-autumn festivals celebrated around the world. It honors the connection between the movement of the moon and the change of seasons that influence agricultural production and harvests. Since this festival is considered the equivalent of Thanksgiving, there is always an abundance of food, carnival games, wishing lamps, moon cakes, and many other festivities.
This event is brought to you by the Asian American Students Association and the School of Architecture. We have also collaborated with many other student organizations including:
*Free boba and mooncakes require the completion of at least 5 activities and will be given on a first come first serve basis while supplies last. Food vendors are not complimentary and their food must be paid at one's own expense. Entering Lake Osceola is strictly prohibited.*
