For their 'Canes Day of Service 2024, the L.A. Greater Area 'Canes will roll up their sleeves to help restore the last coastal wetland in Los Angeles. Join fellow alumni, UM friends, and parents to get hands-on experience while learning about urban ecology.
Practical information | Registration: Registration is required. You must also sign the digital waiver and watch the instructional safety video before the event. Ages: Activities are recommended for ages 7 and up. Youths 16 and under should be accompanied by an adult. Parking: Parking is extremely limited. Please carpool, rideshare, ride your bike, or rent a bike with LA Metro Bike Share. What to wear: Close-toed shoes are required! We recommend dressing in weather-appropriate layers that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty, along with a hat. Long pants are also recommended to protect against occasional prickly plants. What to bring: Gardening gloves and a full water bottle to stay hydrated. There are no water fountains on-site. We will provide all other tools and supplies. Arrive on time: The ecological reserve gates are locked during all events, and late arrivals will find themselves locked out.
