About this Event
This 1-hour interactive training on Hurricane Preparedness will include:
-facts and features of tropical cyclones
-what to expect and how to stay safe before, during, and after a storm
-tips and information for better understanding forecasting information released by the National Hurricane Center
-concrete steps and best practices for being prepared for hurricanes both at home and at work
-University emergency preparedness information
-Question & Answer section
While we understand that this information is most important for those persons who may not have experience with considering the effect of hurricanes and tropical storms or how best to prepare and respond, we also stress that this training is appropriate for all levels of experience with hurricanes and strongly recommend it to everyone. Each class offers the opportunity for brief discussion of previous experiences and tips/best practices learned from those who have been through previous storms. There are many things we can learn from each other in order to become a more resilient community. All faculty, staff, and student employees are encouraged to register.
