Calling all Miami Hurricanes for our annual ’Canes Day of Service!
Join fellow alumni, families, students, and friends of the University as we partner with the Texas Adopt-A-Beach program to improve the quality of our beaches and protect our marine life. The program keeps Texas beaches clean through annual all-volunteer cleanups, education about harmful marine debris, and rallies support for state, national and international action to clean coastal waters.
Houston 'Canes has adopted a one-mile stretch of Pirate's Beach in Galveston. Volunteers can participate in cleaning our stretch of beach. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided. Families, friends, children, and pets are encouraged. We hope to see you there!
Registered participants will receive a commemorative 'Canes Day of Service t-shirt. (Shirt sizes not guaranteed.)
The Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach program is a volunteer effort that began in 1986. Click here to learn more about their great work.
All in-person events will be hosted in accordance with the latest CDC guidelines, local government regulations, and/or University guidelines, all subject to change due to the COVID pandemic.
