Join the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, conductor Scott Flavin, and Puerto Rican flutist Nestor Torres to celebrate Latin music and culture. The program features the 100th anniversary of the great musical icon Tito Puente and music spanning many styles and moods. An evening not to be missed!
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Nestor Torres is known for his unique and danceable style, shaped by learing to improvise in the Charanga Cuban dance music genre. In addition to his achievements in the studio and on the stage, Torres is also the recipient of two honorary doctorate degrees from Barry University and Carlos Albizu University for his commitment to youth, educationand cultural exchanges.
