https://art.as.miami.edu/ ##art #exhibition #printmakingThe University of Miami is pleased to present Florida Printmakers Society 2023 Biennial Competition. There will be a reception for the artists on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Florida Printmakers Society was formed in 1986 and consists of approximately 200 members who don’t just reside in Florida, but also in many other states and countries across the world. Most of the members are practicing artists and printmakers as well as dealers and patrons.
This year’s competition was juried by Lise Drost, the head of the printmaking program at the University of Miami. The show includes thirty two pieces made from a wide variety of print media: cyanotypes, relief prints, etchings, stone lithographs, collographs, monoprints, silkscreens, digital prints, embossing, and various combinations of these different media, with a great deal of printing expertise in evidence. There are as many different approaches to content and image-making as there are print processes. Prizes for the show were furnished by FlexCut Carving Tools.
