Dr. Jerrol B. Wallace, is Commandant of the Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) as the senior military leader and member of the Dean’s Cabinet and the Extended Leadership Team that develops and implements policy, strategic Goals, and supports the Mission and Vision of USUHS and the GSN to over 200 students per year across the Army, Navy, Air Force and U.S. Public Health Service. Dr. Wallacw is a Captain in the United States Navy with 31 years of active-duty service. Born as a first-generation American to Jamaican parents, he began his career in the healthcare field as an Emergency Medical Technician in New York City prior to joining the military as a Hospital Corpsman (HM) where he served as a Marine Corps HM and Leading Petty Officer in Emergency Medicine. In 1998, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Campbell University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Norfolk State University when he was commissioned as an Ensign in 2000. In 2007, Wallace completed nurse anesthesia school in the Navy Nurse Corps Anesthesia Program at USUHS and completed his Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Duke University in 2014.
