Hailed by The Guardian as "New York's most exclusive jazz concert," the live-streamed "Harlem rent party" known as Live from Emmet's Place is coming to Miami on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 to fundraise money for the Frost School of Music's Jazz Studies Guest Artist/Mentor Fund. The concert is led by multifaceted American jazz pianist and composer Emmet Cohen, who created this YouTube live-streamed sensation during the pandemic, uniting a worldwide audience via tens of millions of internet views.
The star-studded lineup includes legendary drummer Herlin Riley, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Patrick Bartley, internationally acclaimed trumpeter Sean Jones, French jazz singer Cyrille Aimee, Steinway piano artist and Dean of the Frost School of Music Shelly Berg, up-and-coming drummer Kyle Poole, and bassist Phil Norris.
Join us for an intimate night of jazz in Newman Recital Hall, a state-of-the-art 200-seat hall anchored by a large picture window overlooking Lake Osceola on the University of Miami campus. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. and doors to the concert hall will open at 7:30 p.m. Each ticket includes a complimentary charcuterie display and wine will be for sale before the concert, so join us early to get this jazz soirée started.
