 irst points of exposure students have to a course. Through this workshop\,
  we will reflect on the message that we are communicating to our students 
 in our syllabi and shift towards a more student-centered approach. The stu
 dent-centered syllabus aims to foreground the student as the most importan
 t element of the learning experience\, promote student equity and belongin
 g\, and more. During this session\, participants will have time to draft o
 r revise two sections of their syllabus: the course description and teachi
 ng philosophy.\n\nPlease bring a copy of the syllabus you intend to worksh
 op and a computer.\n\nLearning Commons Flex Space Room 102B is located on 
 the 1st Floor of Richter Library in the back corner facing the Cox Science
  and Ashe Buildings.\n\nThis program is in collaboration with Learning Inn
 ovation and Faculty Engagement (LIFE) and the Platform for Excellence in T
 eaching and Learning (PETAL)
