About this Event
Join us for Denim Day on Wednesday, April 24th, as we stand in solidarity with survivors and raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Hosted by the Dean of Students Office, UM student organization It’s On Us, and the Title IX office, Denim Day commemorates a significant moment in history when women in the Italian Parliament wore denim to support a victim of sexual assault. Today, people worldwide wear denim on the last Wednesday in April to challenge harmful behaviors surrounding sexual violence.
Show your support by wearing denim to work on April 24th. Join us for a group photo at 11 a.m. next to the U statue, followed by tabling by It’s On Us from noon to 2 p.m. in the Westbrook Walkway, with support from the Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment Center.
For more information and programming updates, follow @itsonusumiami on Instagram or email itsonus@miami.edu. Please note that denim worn should be free of rips or holes. Share this event with your teams and student employees, and let’s come together to make a difference.
