DESCRIPTION:New science is needed to understand the drivers of and levers f
 or change in diverse urban-rural systems\, with a focus on integrative des
 ign\, technology innovation\, sociotechnical transitions\, education\, and
 /or multi-level actors and governance. Comparative\, typology\, and scalab
 ility studies are needed to develop generalizable theories across diverse 
 urban-rural region types.  Therefore\, the main goal of this project is to
  bring forth convergent research that aids in developing decision models f
 or adaptation strategies that\, if implemented\, could help ensure the con
 tinuous operation of services\, protection of human and environmental heal
 th\, and economic robustness in times of national emergencies/crises that 
 disrupt the regular flow of people\, goods\, and services as well as disru
 ptions in physical\, technological\, and social systems \n\n \n\nJoin us a
