’Canes Day of Service offers University of Miami alumni, students, families, and friends an opportunity to give back to their communities by participating in local service projects.
This year the Chicago ’Canes will participate in the Alliance for the Great Lakes spring beach clean-up at Montrose Beach! Dress for the weather, wear a hat and sunscreen and bring a filled water bottle and work gloves if you have them.

The Alliance for the Great Lakes requires all participants to agree to the event waiver & photo liability release. Please review the waiver terms HERE. You will be asked if you agree with the waiver upon completing our registration form.
Help us demonstrate the power of the ’Canes network; wear orange and green. Those who register will receive a ’Canes Day of Service t-shirt (sizes not guaranteed.)
While this is a FREE event, we encourage you to consider supporting the Chicago ’Canes Scholarship Fund. Our community aims to raise $5,000 this year to support first-year UM students from the Chicago area with financial needs. You can show your support for fellow ’Canes by giving HERE.
All in-person events will be hosted in accordance with the latest CDC guidelines, local government regulations, and/or University guidelines, all subject to change due to the COVID pandemic.
