’Canes Day of Service offers University of Miami alumni, students, families, and friends an opportunity to give back to their communities by participating in local service projects.
This year the Charlotte ‘Canes invite you to join us for our community outreach project at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. Volunteer groups typically help unload donated household items, organize and clean donations, place items on the sales floor, maintain the cleanliness & organization of the store, and assist customers with carry-outs after purchase. The organization has requested that you wear enclosed shoes, comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dirty, shirts with sleeves, and pants that are finger-tip length or longer. The ReStore staff will provide any necessary supplies, and water and restroom access will be on site.
Help us demonstrate the power of the ’Canes network. Please register before Monday, April 10th. Registration is limited to the first ten registrants. ’Canes Day of Service t-shirts will be provided for those who register (sizes not guaranteed). Your email confirmation will provide a waiver and safety video; please complete both before the event.
All in-person events will be hosted in accordance with the latest CDC guidelines, local government regulations, and/or University guidelines, all subject to change due to the COVID pandemic.
