  Haikel Dridi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology an
 d Cellular Biophysics at Columbia University. He received his Ph.D. in Phy
 siology from the University of Montpellier in 2016. His research focuses o
 n calcium signaling\, ryanodine receptor biology\, and excitation–contra
 ction coupling in cardiac\, skeletal muscle\, and neurodegenerative diseas
 es. Dr. Dridi’s work has contributed to understanding how intracellular 
 calcium leak drives heart failure\, arrhythmias\, muscle weakness\, and co
 gnitive dysfunction. He is the recipient of an NIH Early-Stage Investigato
 r R01 award and currently leads projects investigating mechanisms of skele
 tal muscle dysfunction and therapeutic strategies for muscle and cardiovas
 cular disease.
