Kirill Martemyanov, PhD
Professor and Chair
Dr. Haikel Dridi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics at Columbia University. He received his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Montpellier in 2016. His research focuses on calcium signaling, ryanodine receptor biology, and excitation–contraction coupling in cardiac, skeletal muscle, and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Dridi’s work has contributed to understanding how intracellular calcium leak drives heart failure, arrhythmias, muscle weakness, and cognitive dysfunction. He is the recipient of an NIH Early-Stage Investigator R01 award and currently leads projects investigating mechanisms of skeletal muscle dysfunction and therapeutic strategies for muscle and cardiovascular disease.
