The Toppel Career Center at the University of Miami is committed to elevating our students through intentional efforts, including transforming career programs and events, as well as strategically connecting students to mentors and employers.
The BreakThru Career Mixer is about breaking barriers in the workforce from recruitment to retention. This event is designed for UM students seeking enhanced access to career opportunities and the chance to connect with employers who are committed to supporting their professional development.
This event serves as a precursor to our Job & Internship Expo and gives students a head start in connecting with employers. Participating employers are looking to engage with students interested in internships and full-time roles and who may benefit from additional career-focused resources.

3:45 pm - Student Registration & Check-In Begins @ Lakeside Village Auditorium
4 pm - Opening Remarks: First Gen Canes, LGBTQ Student Center & Multicultural Student Affairs @ Lakeside Village Pavilion
4:15 pm - Networking Mixer Begins
6 pm - Conclusion of BreakThru
What to Expect:
- Students do not need to pre-register for the mixer and can register on-site the day of the event.
- Registration and check-in begins at 4 pm and ends at 6 pm. You are welcome to come and go as you please during the duration of the mixer between 4 pm - 6 pm.

- A valid UM email address 🙌
