Argentine-American jazz vocalist and composer Roxana Amed presents "BECOMING HUMAN," her 11th album produced with the "New Jazz Works" grant by Chamber Music America. Joined by her exceptional ensemble, Amed, a three-time Latin Grammy nominee, invites audiences on a poetic and musical journey through the human experience. From the innocence of birth and the joys of childhood to the challenges of forging one's identity and the introspection of the artist's solitude, “BECOMING HUMAN” delves into the depths of our shared human existence through 10 captivating songs. These compositions, penned by Amed and masterfully arranged by Martin Bejerano, Mark Small, and Kendall Moore, reflect the profound synergy of a team that has garnered acclaim both locally and internationally.
“Becoming Human” by Roxana Amed has been made possible with support from Chamber Music America’s New Jazz Works program funded through the Doris Duke Foundation. The new album is released by Sony Music.
Join us on Thursday, May 2 for an intimate album release concert at the Frost School of Music.
