Join us for the Lowe Art Museum’s flagship Art Basel event, Bubbles and Brunch featuring Virgil Ortiz: The Future of History!
This event will include a brunch-time champagne reception for Art Week participants and Lowe members from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a lecture featuring the distinguished artist and designer Virgil Ortiz from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM.
Virgil Ortiz has masterfully redefined what it means to be a contemporary Native American artist navigating the global art world while staying rooted in his Cochiti Pueblo traditions. Ortiz’s epic retelling of the 1680 Pueblo Revolt unfolds bit by bit, illustrating past and present-day social issues and the future. The conversation will explore Ortiz’s work, creative process, and innovative artistic style.
