About this Event
500 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202
The Charlotte 'Canes are heading to the Mint Museum Uptown on Wednesday, May 25th at 6 PM to attend their special exhibit Craft in the Laboratory: The Science of Making Things.
Mint Museum Uptown explores how craft artists and designers use science and math concepts and celebrates a revitalizing and reinstallation of the Mint’s highly acclaimed Craft + Design permanent collection. It includes 100 works made from precious metals, wood, steel, polymers, and even agricultural waste; that emphasize the preciseness of science used to craft works of art. The exhibit examines how investigation, experimentation, and critical thinking are common to both science and art and the correlation of art with science, technology, engineering, and math, effectively changing STEM to STEAM concepts.
Afterwards, we will walk to a local eatery or bar to socialize. Please note that you will be responsible for your own meal expenses.
All in-person events will be hosted in accordance with the latest CDC guidelines, local government regulations, and/or University guide, all subject to change due to the COVID pandemic.
