Change is often uncomfortable and can happen rapidly. Relying on assumptions can lead to mistakes, embarrassment, and anxiety. Gender pronouns such as he/him, she/her, they/them, are how we refer to the gender identity of ourselves and others. Using the correct pronouns are one way to demonstrate respect and support a diverse and inclusive culture of belonging.
During this interactive session faculty and staff will hear from Claire Oueslati-Porter PhD., interim director of the Gender & Sexuality Studies Program and senior lecturer about gender, the significance and evolution of pronouns, and how to utilize pronouns effectively in the workplace.
