University of Miami Business Law Symposium 2021: Corporate Counsel and Professional Responsibility Post COVID-19

“The University of Miami Business Law Review will host an online symposium entitled, “Corporate Counsel and Professional Responsibility Post COVID-19” on March 12, 2021 via Zoom from 12:00 to 3:00 P.M. We intend to offer professional responsibility CLE credit, including specifically for ethics and professionalism. The symposium will consist of two panels, each 75 minutes in length. The first panel will address ethics and professionalism issues arising for attorneys from the pandemic, including the changing ethical and professional implications of working virtually, such as unauthorized practice of law and maintaining client confidentiality. The second panel will address the long-term effects of COVID-19 on the legal community, including the increased use and permanency of technology, and how those changes impact an attorney’s professional responsibility and ethical obligations to clients.”
