 nThe Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition celebrates the exciting resea
 rch conducted by graduate students around the world. Developed by the Univ
 ersity of Queensland in 2008\, this interdisciplinary competition is now i
 n more than 200 higher education institutions around the globe. The compet
 ition cultivates students’ academic\, presentation\, and research commun
 ication skills\, contributing to students' professional development. Prese
 nting in a 3MT® Competition increases students’ capacity to succinctly 
 summarize their research in three minutes using language comprehensible to
  a non-specialist audience.\n\nCompetitors have a maximum of three minutes
  to present their research and are allowed one PowerPoint slide with no mo
 vement or sounds. No other resources or props may be used. Monetary prizes
  are awarded to first-place\, runner-up\, and the people's choice award. \
 n\nThe Graduate School hosts this annual competition during the spring sem
 ester in collaboration with the Graduate Student Association. The inaugura
 l University of Miami 3MT® Competition was held in April 2017. \n\nClick
