About this Department
Over the last five years our division has grown by 50% to meet the ever-changing demands of infectious diseases prevention, treatment, and care. Through vibrant and integrated Infectious Diseases Fellowships and mentoring programs, we are educating the infectious disease physicians and researchers of tomorrow.
Under the careful mentorship of nationally and internationally recognized faculty with expertise in basic science and clinical research encompassing HIV/AIDS and its co-morbidities, Hepatitis C, tuberculosis, healthcare-associated infections, genitourinary infections, transplant and oncologic complications, and travel-related illnesses, physicians are exposed to leading areas of research in the field of infectious diseases.
By recruiting top talent and fostering strong leadership roles in antimicrobial stewardship, infectious control, and patient safety at the University of Miami and partnering hospitals, our faculty guides future physicians and researchers toward a vibrant career with education and training opportunities in the United States, Columbia, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Brazil.
